Blender Software

What Is It?

To the left is a 3D vase I made using Blender. Blender is a free software similar to Autodesk Inventor that allows you to create 3D Models. The difference lies within the animation portion of Blender. In Blender you can create 3D objects and modify a light and a camera to move to desired positions. The program is fairly simple once you get started and the outcome looks professional. This software would be great for making simple ads or short animations.

How It Is All Possible:

How to create a vase: Within the Blender software you start with what is called a "Mesh Circle". After creating your circle you use the program's "hot keys" to complete a few processes. To start you create an "extrusion". Next you lock the extrusion position, and finally you scale the shape. To create the vase I continuously repeated those few steps until I got the desired shape I wanted. The process is similar to create the thickness of the vase. To create the walls I simply used a command to add a "Mesh Plane". From there I used the text tool to create and place my text to its desired position. I then used a hot key to scale the planes. I also changed the color of all the planes, vase, and text at this point. Lastly, I had to animate my vase so I adjusted my camera and light before setting up key frames.
