This is my poster that I created in adobe illustrator. For the text I went to a font website that I liked and found a found that spoke to what I was looking for. Then I took a photo of my miniature schnauzer Georgia and used her body in the photo to create the outline of her that is shown as the background and is shown as the centerpiece of the poster. I used the anchors and pen tool to create the outline and then I duplicated multiple smaller versions of the design to create my background.  For the heart shape I used the pencil tool and then added it to the silhouette of my dog. the boxes that are featured behind my text are made with the rectangle tool and I dropped the opacity so the text was the main feature and not hard text boxes.

The poster would  be used during a time that I'd run a deal in order to benefit a charity, foundation, or shelter. This one being the Washington Area Humane Society. The deal would be run for a day or two and then the shop would proceed to run as usual and there would be a new special every few months. I felt using my own dog would bring a personal tie to things instead of just using stock images. My dog was not a rescue but she's rescued me and I would love to see others fall in love with fur babies that are in need of homes instead of them just being wasted in shelters. And I'd love to see that these dogs and cats and what other animals are kept at the shelter receive the best possible until someone can find them and I believe running a deal like this would help greatly. I would like to make a difference in the world and things like these really do help even if it only helps a little.
