Jahmeir Tyrell Reed is the founder and CEO of GenerationZ. Jahmeir grew up in "the city of brotherly love" aka Philadelphia. As a kid Jahmeir had a knack for drawing, and a passion for art. He would always draw his favorirte comic book characters Spider-man and Wolverine. As he grew he kept his passion for art, attending Charter High school for Architecture and design(Chad). While attending CHAD Jahmeir dabbled in Fashion design, Architecture, photoshop, and electric circuits. It was in fashion design where he got the idea for GenZ, an affordable streetwear brand that is accessible for everyone. But, he didnt have the means to fund it. Fast foward to college Jahmeir attends California University of Pennsylvania and graduates with a degree in Digital media technology. After college, Jahmeir worked at M3 Printing in Philadelphia for a trying to save money to start the brand. One day on the job Jahmeir met Kanye West. The two got to talking and Jahmeir showed kanye his designs. Kanye was impressed, Kanye offered him a job YEEZY. Of course he took the offer! He mentored Jahmeir while working with him as co-director at YEEZY. Jahmeir was co-director at YEEZY for two years until he was ready to start GenZ. After two years of working at YEEZY Jahmeir finally left YEEZY to start GenerationZ. Today you can find GenerationZ in Philadlephia,PA.
The main reason for creating generationZ(GenZ) was to create a high fashion/streetwear brand that everyone can afford. Growing up and even now, luxury brand prices are ubsurd and will charge you $300 for a simple T-shirt. As a kid I couldn't afford the latest sneakers or quality pieces. I used to envy my peers because of what they had and what i didn't have. No, money isnt everything but, In todays world prices continue to sky rocket. The brand is targeted to my generation the... GenZ. I want everyone to feel awesome, i want everyone to feel left behind. Although, we are affordable we keep pieces limited and low price. So,it will be affordable for everyone! That is the reason this company exists.
