About Me

My name is Cally Fleming. I have a Bachelor's degree in Technology Education with a certification in STEM and Special Education from California University of Pennsylvania. Since a young child I have always had an interest in hands-on learning. This interest started for me in middle school and continued to grow in high school, eventually turning into a passion that led me to pursue degree at Cal U. One of my proudest accomplishment thus far was becoming the Bots IQ team captain and lead designer of my school's Robotics team my senior year. Our team tied for 5th in the state, the best in our school's history, which opened up many doors for me. Our industry advisor, who machined 75% of our parts and supplied us with most of our materials, offered me a paid internship upon graduation. I continued to work there every summer for four summers, where I was able to witness industrial manufacturing standards and how a large scale company operates.

I have had the opportunity to start my career at South Park High School, which is also my alma mater. I have taught here for three years. During this time I have taught various courses at all different levels. I am also one of the Bots IQ teacher advisor's at South Park and I am currently in the process of starting up an after school Applied Engineering & Technology club (A.E.T.). The goal is for students with interest to have the opportunity to create projects that they may not be able to in class. My goal overall goal as a Technology Education Instructor is to provide students with a fun and safe environment. Students in my classes will learn hands-on skills and problem solving skills that they will later use to build working models and prototypes. These valuable skills and experiences will be beneficial for students later in life in their own home or career.
