Let's Talk about Communications!

What is Communications?

Communications is the study of how people deliver messages, whether it be verbal or nonverbal. Learning how to effectively and efficiently communicate with others is not only crucial in casual conversation, but also in business, marketing, and other areas. Communications does not only help you to learn how YOU conversate, but also how to interpret and analyze how other people conversate as well. There are several different modes of communication to delve into as well, like conversation, body language, writing, music, and so much more!

What can you do with a Communications degree?

Communications is a field with many different outlets. The Communications Studies major at California University of Pennsylvania allows students in the program to dabble in a variety of areas, such as graphic design, public relations, branding, social media, and more. Experience in Communications

California University of Pennsylvania offers many opportunities to gain experience. From leadership positions in organizations to internships, one can expect to get hands-on experience in the field. For example, I currently hold the position of Communications Chair on the Student Honors Advisory Board here at Cal. In this position, I run the social medias, create campaigns, design graphics and logos, and deliver important messages to our audience. Below you can find the logo I designed for the program.
