Introduction to counter terrorism

What is terrorism?

International terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups who are inspired by, or associated with, designated foreign terrorist organizations or nations.

Domestic terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.

In todays day and age terrorism comes in all shapes and sizes, ranging from internet attacks carried out by lone offenders and or large scale attacks orchestrated by groups.

The growing question is how are we able to properly protect ourselves from the next attack? Well as an idividual and a nation, it is of the utmost importance that we countinue to priortize and develope safety measures across all platforms. Not only are we preparing for the next 9/11, we must also watch for other threats such as nuclear warfare and cyber attacks.
