About Burton

 

Burton was established in 1977 by Jake Burton Carpenter with inspiration from the "snurfer", which was invented by Sherman Poppen. Jake took the invention, modified it, and moved to Londonberry, Vermont with the idea of the first Burton snowboard. Afterwards Burton has been moved to the country of Austria where couples Jake and Donna Carpenter have created the now biggest company in all of snowboarding. As a graphic designer, my goal is to create my own company. I would like to design everything that goes into a brand, clothing, accessories, boards, etc. I would like to be the artistic mind behind it all.
